Hi all! I thought I would do a little something different and share some of the Holiday Window Displays in NYC. If you didn't know, major department stores go all out during the holidays and create intricate, themed displays. I checked out Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman before Christmas and Macy's and Lord and Taylor after Christmas.
This is just to give you a fun look at these displays. Please understand that the displays are crowded, and these were taken with my phone. You may see some glare, crooked-ness, and heads (man, people are oblivious and just stand and stare for 20 minutes right in front), but I think you get the gist!
Saks Fifth Avenue. This was inspired by the 80th anniversary of Snow White so it tells the tale through the window displays. These were beautiful. Each window had a saying under it, and it explained the story in case you are unfamiliar. I left all the photos large, so click on them to see more detail.
Run Away! Never Come Back! This one was difficult to get a photo of because it moved really fast. Check out the video below it to see what I mean.
Check out the video of Snow White running away. It's cool!
And just for kicks, here's the fun light display they do! I usually watch it from straight on, but yesterday, we were walking down fifth and decided to catch it at a new angle!
Bergdorf Goodman does a classier theme. This was inspired by New York City museums and landmarks, which you can see in the bottom right of each photo.
Lord & Taylor. This was sponsored by Hallmark, and said something about the history of TV. Shrug, no idea. It was just cute to look at.
Macy's. This was the real winner for me. Macy's and Saks Fifth were amazing. Macy's had a theme of holidays and coming together, and depicted such cuteness through mice and polar bears. These were so so intricate. I hope you can one day see it!
A glimpse of the Empire State Building, all dressed up for Christmas.
And lastly, my favorite lights in all of the city! I take a picture of these every year, even though they are always the same! This is on 6th ave (by 48th street-ish).
I hope you enjoyed this non-nail post! I really like NYC during the holidays so I thought I would share some of it with you.
