Pahlish Chromatic Candy Crunch with Stars

Nothing to Disclose

Today I'm kicking off The Nail Challenge Collaborative's January theme: Purple! The good thing about this theme is that I have a few untried purples and will be utilizing them for the theme. Actually, my goal in January is to finish using ALL my untrieds! Don't worry it's only about ten of them!

Pahlish Chromatic Candy Crunch with Stars

I got this polish in October of 2014 and it just sat in my Helmer drawer. WHY? I guess I was like eh in the bottle, but there is pure magic when you put it on your nails!

Chromatic Candy Crunch: 3 coats. This was a Bespoke Polish from Pahlish during the Halloween 2014 season. I'm pretty sure it was re-released this year as well and I hope you grabbed it! It's a unique grey lavender polish with copper and blue flecks. It's really beautiful.

I planned to do nail art over this and couldn't. Instead, I took inspiration from the blue flakes in the polish and added clay blue stars after I topcoated the polish. Simple.

Zoya currently had an amazing promotion going on: 4 polishes for free! Just pay shipping. What better time to show you their newest transitional collection, Whispers. This creme-based collection will help move you away from vampy dark polishes into spring colors. I love these creme polishes, so let's take a look!

Zoya Whispers Transitional Spring 2016 Collection

Zoya April: 3-4 coats. This is a rosy nude polish and the hint of pink is just enough for my skin tone. I currently have long nails but if you're nails are shorter, you should be good with 2-3 coats.

Zoya April

Zoya April

Zoya April

Zoya Cala: 3 coats. A soft nude, this is a little too yellow-toned for my skin and it would look absolutely beautiful on someone with olive skin. That being said, I still love staples like this for bases for glitters and nail art.

Zoya Cala

Zoya Cala

Zoya Cala

Zoya Misty: 2 coats. Another taupe color that looks a little murky on my skin tone because of the addition of green. I think this will be beautiful on someone with a darker skin tone as well. It's still REALLY unique and I have nothing like this in my collection.

Zoya Misty

Zoya Misty

Zoya Ireland: 3 coats. A muted but bright green. I realize that is a contradiction but there is no other way to explain it. It's a beautiful green and I love it.

Zoya Ireland

Zoya Ireland

Zoya Lake: 2 coats. This is a similar concept as Ireland. It's muted but bright, making it perfect for all year.

Zoya Lake

Zoya Lake

Zoya Eastyn: 2 coats. Zoya calls this a subtle greyed grape and I think that is a perfect description. The formula is beautiful and I love it on my skin.

Remember, Zoya has a promo going on right NOW until 1/13/16 that you can get 4 free polishes; simply pay $15 shipping and processing. It seems like the Whispers collection is excluded from the promo, but you can add on these polishes to your order!

The Zoya Spring Whispers Collection is available HERE on their web site. The collection retails for $9 each or you can grab the entire sampler for $54. Make sure to like Zoya on Facebook so you are always up to date with new collections.

Lady Queen Bear Ring with Teddy Bear Nail Art

Good morning! Today I have a cutesy look for my nail art to match an accessory from Lady Queen Beauty. Let's take a look.
Lady Queen Bear Ring with Teddy Bear Nail Art

This adorable bear ring looks as it. It is a silver metal with a gold mouth and black details. It's one size and it's pretty big, but comfortable.

I began with two coats of OPI The Gown Needs a Crown, which is a silver satin polish. It actually looks like the brushed silver! Then with OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby, which is a gold satin polish, I used the brush to paint on the bear's mouth. I did two coats of that so it would be darker. Lastly, I took a dotting tool and a black creme polish for the details.

Hello All! Today I'm showing my second post with the Nail Challenge Collabortive with the theme of purple. I just received this purple and it was so beautiful in the bottle so I was excited to wear it immediately!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Galaxsea with 3D Glitter

Galaxsea: 3 coats. I picked up Galaxsea for $6 during the final RBL sale. Unfortunately, this brand no longer exists so the color isn't available. It's a beautiful purple polish with intense teal and blue shimmer. It's actually way better than Scrangie!

I happened to have this 3D glitter and noticed it perfectly matched Galaxsea. So of course, I had to use it. I simply dipped my nail into the glitter pot after applying top coat. Then I clapped my hands to get rid of the excess. Finally, I did one coat of top coat. Totally impractical but fun!

Hello All! Hope you had a relaxing weekend. Today it actually snowed for the first time this season. It's light but still! I'm about to go do a blue manicure because snow reminds me of the color blue. But first, I wanted to share some swatches of the latest Impala collection!

Impala Meus Segredos Collection: Swatches and Review

This is a collection of 5 polishes and one shimmer top coat. For each polish, I added one coat of Fiquei Rosa, which added a beautiful touch of pink to green iridescence to each polish.

Abafa o Caso: 3 coats. This is a red orange jelly polish. It's very squishy. It is almost neon and because of that, dried matte. I added one coat of top coat. There is some VNL but that is typical with a jelly.

Impala Abafa o Caso

Here is the polish with one coat of the shimmer top coat. Each third picture will be with this top coat.

Te Contel?: 2 coats. This is a beautiful milk chocolate creme. Nice formula and self-leveling.

Ninguem Sabe: 3 coats. This is just like Abafa o Caso. It's a squishy jelly polish with neon pigment so it's dries a bit matte. I love the colors.

X by Sephora Alchemy I and Alchemy II Comparison

Nothing to Disclose

Cheers to a new week! Today I have a comparison I have wanted to do for a while! I loved the LE polish Alchemy when Sephora released it in November 2014 so when I noticed there was an Alchemy II released in November 2015, I had to snatch it up! These are so different but beautiful in their own way so let's take a look.

X by Sephora Alchemy I and Alchemy II Comparison

Alchemy II: 2 coats. The first coat appears sheer but it's fully opaque with the second. It's a beautiful bronze-gold polish with rainbow flecks. They do call it rose gold, and maybe it is on certain skin tones, but it is more bronze on me!

X by Sephora Alchemy II

X by Sephora Alchemy II

Now each bottle has a limited edition cap. I had to remove it since it is reflective and was messing up my photos. But I just wanted to show the special touch.

X by Sephora Alchemy I and Alchemy II Comparison

Alchemy I: 2 coats. You can clearly see Alchemy I is more of a platinum color. It contains the same rainbow flecks. Now, are these the most flattering colors on me? No. But they are unique and beautiful. They also look awesome with one thin coat over black! It actually flattered my skin tone more that way.

Alchemy I is no longer available but you can still find Alchemy II here! Hope you enjoyed my little comparison.  Which do you prefer?

Cirque Colors Storm King and Selvedge Gradient with Discotheque

I mentioned the other day that we had our first snow on January 17th (my mom's birthday!) and was feeling a wintry blue color! Well, I had just reorganized my Cirque Colors and grabbed three that felt like winter and here's my simple art!

Cirque Colors Storm King and Selvedge Gradient with Discotheque

I started with two coats of Cirque Colors Storm King. This was one of the new colors that came out with the Nordstrom Pop In Shop. I grabbed all three sets for a steal because of a gift card. All 6 for $15! I love this shade of blue gray.

Cirque Colors Storm King

Then I did a gradient using Selvedge, a deep blue from the Pop In Shop.

Lastly, I dabbed on 1.5 coats of Cirque Colors Discotheque, a silver holographic glitter topper. It has so many shapes! It's only missing moons. Everything came out easily and no digging was necessary. I used Discoteque because it was an untried for me. But I'm thinking Galinda would have made this a bit more "snowier." I still love the result!

Unfortunately, none of these polishes are available as they were limited at Nordstrom's. But Cirque has similar shades in her shop now.

Today I have a special polish to show you from Paint Box Polish! Not only is it beautiful, but it is ONE POUR, meaning you better pounce on picking up this beauty today! It is available now so let's look at the photos so you can head to Paint Box Polish's site!

Paint Box Polish LE Valentine's Day Set: Love's Keen Sting and Two Mani Fizzes

First, I want to show you the two LE mani fizzes. One is Strawberries & Champagne, which you might remember from the NYE duo! It's a wonderful fruity scent with a balance of champagne sweetness. Next is Love Bites (the heart), which smells more floral to me. It's not too heavy though. I actually used my last Pumpkin Spice mani fizz before wearing this polish and it is wonderful. I fill a bowl with warm water and then soak my hands! My hands are so soft right now. (P.S. The fall mani fizz scents are currently on sale for $1!!)

Paint Box Polish Mani Fizzes: Love Stinks and Strawberries and Champagne

Love's Keen Sting: two coats. This polish is awesome. There was full coverage with two coats. It's a red violet polish with silver holo glitter and lots of gold shimmer. The golden shimmer is so so beautiful and you will see how it transforms the polish in the sun.

Also, this is apparently a Harry Potter reference. Pam, the maker, is a SERIOUS fan of Harry Potter, so if you figured it out, then you are just as serious as she is!

In the sunlight, the golden shimmer takes over and it is so so beautiful. Whether you spend your days indoors or out, it is beautiful.

I also took Paint Box Polish The Knight Bus, a beautiful purple creme, to create heart balloons. Because why not?! I have it shiny and matte below.

Cuccio Colours Nudetrals Collection: Swatches and Review

Good morning on this snowy Saturday! We are getting hit hard in the NYC/NJ area so I'm staying in for at least another 24 hours! The snow doesn't seem to be stopping! No better time to sit back and browse swatches than a day like today! And today, I have a beautiful collection from Cuccio Colours that is really one to get!

Cuccio Colours Nudetrals Collection

*First, I did not use any top coat on these swatches. Cuccio has a wonderful formula and I wanted to show you how they self-level.

Fair Game: 2-3 coats. 3 for long nails. This is a beautiful white shimmer and for a white, it had a great formula! The bottle shows off a green and pink shimmer, but on my nails, I mostly see pink. It's still lovely and a great formula for white!

Cuccio Colours Fair Game

Cuccio Colours Fair Game

Oh Naturale: 3 coats. This one is like a shimmer version of Zoya Misty. Neither work well on my skin tone. The yellow undertones clash and create lobster hands for me. It's a nice shimmer for someone with an olive complexion. This needed three coats and has a nice silver shimmer to it.

Cuccio Colours Oh Naturale

Cuccio Colours Oh Naturale

Skin to Skin: 3 coats. This is a neutral color with more pink undertones so it works better with my skin. It still brings out a little redness but not as much as Oh Naturale. This has a very slight shimmer to it.

Cuccio Colours Skin to Skin

Nude-a-Tude: 2 coats. This one has a similar shimmer to Skin to Skin, as it is very slight. It's a beautiful mauve color and the formula was great on this one.

The next four are the stars of the collection, with beautiful golden shimmer.

Sun Kissed: 3 coats. Love this color! It's literally sun-kissed with a muted coral base and tone of beautiful golden shimmer. This is amazing.

Cuccio Colours Sun Kissed

Blush Hour: 3 coats. Similar to Sun Kissed, Blush Hour is a beautiful muted pink loaded with the same shimmer. I love this color on my skin. It's totally wearable for me. Love love love. No top coat either and it is so shimmery and leveled out.

Cuccio Colours Blush Hour

Cuccio Colours Blush Hour

Grey's Anatomy: 3 coats. This is the same shimmer, with a grey-blue base. Again, I love this shimmer. It's just perfection. And I love this shade of blue. I wish I could paint my walls in this color! Thick coats would probably only need two for coverage.

Cuccio Colours Grey's Anatomy

Cuccio Colours Grey's Anatomy

Olive You: 3 coats. I've already worn this again since I swatched it. It's a beautiful olive green grey color, again with this beautiful golden shimmer. So unique and special. I prefer to do thin coats, so I did three coats but if you like thick coats, this will be two (like Grey's Anatomy).

Cuccio Colours Olive You

Cuccio Colours Olive You

I love Fair Game, the white shimmer, and the four heavy golden shimmers. They are so unique and beautiful in my large stash. The formulas on this polishes all leveled out wonderfully, and the quality of Cuccio is really great.

Want to learn more about Cuccio? Here to their main site, Cuccio Naturale, Facebook, Instagram, If you don't have a CosmoProf or beauty supply close to you, you can order the Nudetral collection HERE.    Cuccio has a huge amount of nail polish and beauty products, so you can place one big order!

It's the day after the blizzard, and we've accumulated more than 26 inches of snow! So it's clean up day and I hope those with 36+ inches get lots of help! Stay off the roads people; it's still bad out there.

Snowstorm Nail Art: Zoya Aspen with Cirque Colors Ophelia and Gold Foil Snowflakes

I first started with a base of two coats of Zoya Aspen, what screams winter more than Aspen and white shimmers?

Then I added a coat of Cirque Colors Ophelia, a periwinkle matte glitter with tons of shimmer. The shimmer of Ophelia plus Aspen create a beautiful snowy background. Lastly, I added gold foil snowflakes onto my nails with topcoat. It's a bit blizzardy, but you can still see the snow!

Another week to welcome! I never feel bad about Mondays; it's a day to start the week off right! And today, I'm showing off a new-to-me brand, Gabriel!
Gabriel Lilac Blossom with Easy Line Nail Art

Gabriel nail polish is a brand I met at the Tips & Sips event while at Cosmoprof. You can see pictures of the event and all the colors I saw of Gabriel HERE. I got to grab a polish to take home and here is the one I took.

Gabriel is 5-free and can be found at Whole Foods.

Lilac Blossom: 2 coats. The is a beautiful dusty purple with silver shimmer. The color and shimmer combination make it a wintry color, hence why I waited to wear it. The formula was nice and smooth and I didn't need any top coat.

Gabriel Lilac Blossom

Gabriel Lilac Blossom

The purple color reminded me that it worked well with The Nail Challenge Collaborative’s theme of purple! I added random lines with a silver texture polish and then dots of purple texture polish! I liked the contrasts of shimmer with texture! Nothing fancy but totally doable!

Winter Berries Nail Art with Leighton Denny Pillow Talk + TUTORIAL

Good morning! Today I have a fun manicure that was inspired by a wrapping paper design at Papyrus that you can see in the collage below and I've even created a super easy tutorial so you can do this as well! It's so easy so let's take a look.

Winter Berries Nail Art with Leighton Denny Pillow Talk + TUTORIAL

I started with 3 coats of Leighton Denny Pillow Talk. This is a berry jelly polish. It's super squishy so it needed three coats for opacity! Leighton Denny is another brand I saw at Cosmoprof. They are mostly based out of Europe. It looks like you can now order online though! This had a typical jelly formula but it was nice and easy to use. What I love the most about this polish is the brush! It has a nice weighty cap and a long brush and it made polishing really easy.

Leighton Denny Pillow Talk

Leighton Denny Pillow Talk

Leighton Denny Pillow Talk

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now onto the nail art! Here's a collage of how it progresses, but let's look at the steps below!

Winter Berries Nail Art Tutorial

To create the winter berries you will need a few items:

1. A black, grey, white, and red creme polish (4 polishes total).
2. A striping brush (or whatever you use for a thin line. You could use a toothpick).
3. A dotting tool (or the end of a bobby pink).

Step 1: Draw a line with a black creme down your nail. It doesn't need to be perfect. What trees are?!

Step 2: Add branches with the same black creme coming out of the tree trunk. No rhyme or reason!

Step 3: Add your dots! I began with adding grey dots. Do less dots at first. You can always add more!

Step 4:  Add red dots!

Step 5: Add white dots and go back and add more grey and red if you want!

Step 6: Wait 10 minutes to avoid smearing your art and top coat! I'm still wearing this manicure and it's holding up so nicely going on 3 days!

I have apparently been in a blue mood! I've been doing tons of blue nail art and today I want to show you some ridiculous/fun rhinestones from Born Pretty.

Jessica Cosmetics Phenom Fountain Bleu with Born Pretty Rhinestones

I started with two coats of Jessica Cosmetics Phenom Fountain Bleu. This is a gorgeous bright cobalt blue creme that is super shiny and goes on like butter! After two coats of Jessica Phenom Fountain Bleu, I added the rhinestones. You guys, these rhinestones are HUGE! Now that I think about it, these can be used for jewelry and decorating shirts and clothing (maybe a bracelet or a hat). They are pretty big and definitely not practical for longtime wear. For a special overnight occasion, they will work. But I see them coming off in the shower or doing anything relatively active. They definitely make a statement! Make sure you push them down good into your topcoat!

NOTD: Wet N Wild Diamond in the Rough

This is a quick NOTD I wanted to share. I've made it a goal to get through my untried this year! I literally only have 12 untried polishes (now even less) and this one was embarrassingly, untried since 2011! So I finally decided to wear it!

Wet N Wild Diamond in the Rough

This Wet N Wild came out in 2011 and I remember the craze over them and being so excited to find them! For some reason, I never wore this one! Well, it's a nice basic grey glitter with tons of holographic sparkle. Nothing too unique but not hideous that it deserved to be untried for so many years. I'm thinking it's because indies exploded right after I got this so I began getting distracted! Well, here it is anyway!

It's the weekend! Today I have my final NCC post for the month with the theme purple and I used another untried so let's get to it!

Cirque Colors Vaudeville with Purple Zebra Stripes

I began with three coats of Cirque Colors Vaudeville. I think this is Vaudeville. I actually purchased this at her sample sale in the summer and it has no name! I saw the beautiful lavender shimmer and just had to have it. If it's Vaudeville, it's one of her first releases. At that time, I was mostly into glitters and holos. But shimmers are my absolute favorite now.

Cirque Colors Vaudeville

I then used Cirque Colors Pop!, Queen Majesty, and Baptisia to create the purple Zebra Stripes. I covered it all with one coat of top coat. I liked the mix of textures with a holo, glitter, and shimmer!

It seems like every color I have used was either LE or discontinued, but Cirque has tons of other awesome purples!

Punxsutawney Phil Groundhog Day Nail Art

It's Groundhog Day! I hope I don't wake up to the same day tomorrow ;). To commemorate whether or not we have six more weeks on winter, I've done some Groundhog Day nails, hopefully worthy of Punxsutawney Phil.

Punxsutawney Phil Groundhog Day Nail Art

I began with a base of Barry M Spring Green, which is the perfect grass green to me! Then I added a variety of greens with a striping brush to represent grass. Lastly, I took a black creme to create question marks. I noticed Sonoma Nail Art used question marks in her mani, and I loved the idea!

And by the way, he did not see his shadow! So that means it's an early spring...except we will have snow in the next week.

Good evening! Late night post here! Mardi Gras is in its final week and this is when the biggest parades happen before Fat Tuesday! I absolutely love New Orleans and loved being at Mardi Gras, so I wanted to show off some nail art! This first one is cheeky, but subtle.

Mardi Gras Nail Art Show Us Your Beads

I began with 3 coats of Zoya April, which happens to be similar to my skin tone. Of course, find your  perfect mannequin hands color and adjust!

Then I used Zoya Giada, Rikki, and Ziv to create Mardi Gras colored dots that resemble a necklace. See where I'm going with this?! I top coated it all with one coat of top coat.

Mardi Gras Nail Art: Saran Wrap with Lace Decals

As I mentioned yesterday, I love NOLA and they are in the last week of Mardi Gras. Today I have a much blingier Mardi Gras look, with some additional decals, so let's look!
Mardi Gras Nail Art: Saran Wrap with Lace Decals

I received these lovely decals from Born Pretty; they call them Arabesque, but I find them to be lacy decals. There's 20 in a pack so you can do 2 full manicures or a few with accent nails. I choose to wear a full mani. I really love these decals! As always, I cut out my chosen design, remove the plastic coating, drop the decals into water for 20 seconds, and place where I want. Make sure you FLOAT top coat over them or then will get destroyed.  These decals are $1.72 and can be found HERE.

I began with a base of Pahlish Golden Nugget, a super blingy gold holographic nail polish. Then I used Bamboom and Witch, You're Fabulous from Girly Bits and dabbed on dots of those polishes with saran wrap.

Hi all! This weekend is the Superbowl! For me, it's usually about cooking up some yummy food! I don't have an attachment to either team, so I'm showing both team's nail art! First, let's start with a simple Broncos tribute!

Denver Broncos Nail Art with Zoya Nail Polish

I began with three coats of Zoya Arizona, the perfect Broncos orange! Then, using Zoya Sia, I painted on stripes. Lastly, I added a white stripe between the blue and orange.

I attempted to write Broncos on my nails; turns out, I can't write at all! Hahah. But I tried!

I'll be back later today with some Panthers art! Who are you rooting for? Or better yet, what foods are you making?!

I mentioned that I don't really have an allegiance to either team in the Super Bowl this year, so here's my take on some Panthers nail art!

Super Bowl Nail Art: Carolina Panthers Nail Art

I started with a base of Zoya Willa. Then, to mimic whiskers of panthers, I used Cirque Colors Monte Carlo and a white creme to create a nose and whiskers. Topped it all off with top coat. Easy!
